Experienced in truck and trailer fabrication and confident producing quality work from engineering drawings?


Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Fitter Welder for an immediate-start opportunity with an established engineering business in Papakura.

This is a hands-on workshop role working across truck body fabrication, fitting, welding, modifications and repairs.

Proven truck and trailer fabrication experience is essential — we're looking for someone who understands this type of work and can contribute from day one.


Location: Papakura, Auckland

Start date: Immediate

Pay rate: $35.00–$37.00 per hour (Weekly pay)

  • What You'll Be DoingFabricate, fit and weld truck and trailer components
  • Work across truck bodies including tippers, transporters, flat decks and other specialist builds
  • Carry out modifications, repairs and general fabrication work
  • Read and accurately work from engineering drawings
  • Measure, cut, fit and assemble fabricated components
  • Produce accurate, high-quality welds and finished work
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and workshop safety
  • What We're Looking ForProven truck and trailer fabrication, fitting and welding experience – essential
  • Current relevant Level 4 trade qualification
  • Current relevant welding tickets
  • Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Own tools
  • Strong fabrication, fitting and welding skills
  • Reliable, safety-focused and committed to producing quality work

Important:

Applicants must currently reside in the Auckland region, New Zealand, and have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
