Diesel Mechanic

Tradestaff is looking for a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic to join a busy operation in North West Auckland. Put your diagnostic and mechanical expertise to work keeping heavy equipment performing at its best.


Location: North West Auckland, Auckland

Start date: Immediate start

Pay rate: $35–$45 per hour + weekly pay


  • What You'll Be DoingService and repair diesel engines and associated components
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
  • Repair and maintain heavy vehicles, plant, and machinery
  • Identify faults and complete repairs efficiently
  • Complete inspections and maintain accurate service records
  • Work safely while keeping the workshop tidy and organised
  • What We're Looking ForProven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Diesel Mechanic, or similar
  • Relevant mechanical or heavy automotive qualification preferred
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Experience with trucks, plant, construction equipment, or other heavy machinery
  • Good knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Full NZ driver licence
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and capable of working independently
